Professor Andrew J Pollard is the chief investigator of the global clinical trials of the Oxford COVID19 vaccine sponsored by the University of Oxford. He has been Director of the Oxford Vaccine Group in the Department of Paediatrics at the University since 2001 and leads the paediatric infectious disease clinical team at Oxford Children’s Hospital. His research involves the design, development, clinical testing and laboratory evaluation of vaccines with the aim of improving preventing serious infectious disease and improving child health. He trained in paediatric infectious diseases in the UK and Canada.

I am most interested in bacterial infections and their prevention through vaccination
