I am a Departmental Lecturer in the Department of Engineering Science. Prior to joining Oxford, I was a Postdoctoral Associate in the MIT Media Lab, and received my PhD degree from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL), Lausanne, Switzerland.
What is your main area(s) of interest/expertise?
I am primarily interested in utilising graphs to model relational structure within the data, and developing novel techniques that lie at the intersection of machine learning, signal processing, and complex networks to study questions across social and economic sciences.
What are you working on right now?
With my group, we are developing novel techniques in the fast-growing fields of graph signal processing and geometric deep learning, and apply them to analyse data collected in rich sensor, social, and financial networks. As part of the project team of the Oxford Covid-19 Impact Monitor (https://www.oxford-covid-19.com/), I help with analysing change in collective mobility behaviour and its epidemiological and socioeconomic implications.
Why is Oxford a good place to work in this field of research?
Oxford is rich in the breadth of its talent across a wide range of domains, which provides a perfect platform for cross-disciplinary research like ours.
